Crawshay’s Rugby Club are pleased to appoint Jordan Davies to a new position of Commercial and Marketing Manager.

Born in Neath and now based in Llanidloes, Mid Wales Jordan is a senior manager and PE teacher in Llanidloes High School. With his educational background he has also gathered experience whilst working in Birchgrove Comprehensive in Swansea, with regional consortia for Mid & West Wales – ERW, and also with Welsh Government as part of the Pioneer Schools process writing he New Curriculum for Wales.

His original passion is coaching which he has done through the ranks whilst playing scrum half at Skewen RFC up to the Championship level and in the North Wales leagues as Head Coach of Llanidloes RFC. He has been employed with the WRU as a coach educator where he also gained his qualifications at Level 1 referee and 7s coaching and Level 3 15 a side coaching. Jordan also has a Masters degree in coaching science from Hartpury College.

Jordan’s marketing, branding and commercial experience comes from his business, Creative Rugby Ltd. The main attraction of his company is the Heart of Wales 7s Sport & Music Festival which will see 4000+ people attending in 2020 across Elite & Social rugby 7s, Netball, Tug of War and Ultra running. The event has seen massive growth over the past 3 years and is testament to the unique, exciting and personable approach taken by Jordan and the HoW7s.

Will Thomas, Club Secretary of the Crawshay’s commented ‘we’ve been looking for an experienced and energetic person to fill this new position of Commercial and Marketing Manager for some time now and Jordan fits the bill perfectly. He’s done an outstanding job building the Heart of Wales 7’s up to be one of Wales’s top experiential weekends and it’s clear it’s going from strength to strength.’

‘Jordan’s remit will be to improve our income generation and market the Club and it’s activities more effectively and to a wider audience. We all welcome Jordan on board and are looking forward to working with him.’

The Crawshay’s are delighted to announce that ex Wales international Jason Forster will captain the Crawshay’s Welsh All Stars team against ‘Dolly’s Originals’ at Sandy Park, the home of the Exeter Chiefs on Saturday 31st August.

Jason brings an abundance of experience having had a stellar professional career, most notably with Newport and the Newport Gwent Dragons where he notched up 182 appearances. Jason achieved representative honours with Wales, Wales ‘A’, the Barbarians and of course the Crawshays. Jason also represented Wales 7s in two Rugby Sevens World Cups and in the Commonwealth Games in Manchester.

The squad for Exeter is shaping up nicely and we’ve currently selected eleven full international players across four different nationalities. We’ll be announcing the squad over the next couple of weeks.
